The Ecological Research as Education Network (EREN) is a Research Coordination Network funded by the National Science Foundation (2010-2015). Its mission is to develop collaborative, large-scale ecological studies involving faculty and students at primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs). This workshop will inform participants of pilot projects currently in the design phase within EREN. At least one of these projects is anticipated to be ready for active engagement by September 2011. Appropriate training for participation in this project will be provided as part of the workshop. Participants will also devise their own projects using the EREN research model; it may be possible to incorporate new projects from the workshop into the pilot and grant proposal phases of EREN. This free workshop (lunch included) is open only to EREN members (become a member online for free at www.erenweb.org) and will be directed at faculty from institutions with significant teaching expectations, as well as graduate students and postdocs who plan to seek employment at PUIs in the future.
