ESA, much of Earth and environmental sciences, and my own worldview, have been shaped by the Sustainable Biosphere Initiative.  Now its implementation phase, Earth Stewardship, is opening channels between ecologists and the communities and practitioners in positions to affect solutions to our many environmental challenges.  ESA has elected officers and professional staff, but our strength comes from our 10,000 members.  My vision is that every ESA member is an ambassador for the application of ecological science toward problem solving.  Let’s discuss how to motivate and equip ESA members with the training and tools to make this happen.
