Minneapolis has been rated as the #1 bicycling city in the United States as a result of its commitment to establishing and maintaining exclusive bike paths around much of the city. Bike paths combined with wide bike lanes on many streets allow bicycle commuters to reach many parks, restaurants, and employment locations around the city. This bike tour will reveal this great resource to participants and provide a unique ‘view’ of the great city of Minneapolis. We will utilize the bike trails and bike lanes around the city to explore some of the unique outdoor entertainment opportunities of Minneapolis. A short part of the tour will take participants through the downtown area, but the majority of the tour will be spent riding on bike paths throughout the city to take advantage of the extensive trail system. We will visit one of the most famous and historic lakes of Minneapolis, which is a highly utilized resource during the summer months. Minneapolis has a large network of parks throughout the metropolitan area that provide outdoor recreational opportunities throughout the summer and winter months. Our tour will travel through some of these parks, and will give us an opportunity to get refreshments at one of the park pavilions. We will finish the tour by biking through the Mississippi National Scenic River and Recreation Area, which goes travels alongside the downtown area. http://www.ci.minneapolis.mn.us/bicycles/  To provde you with a bike that fits we will need to get your height.
