OOS 22-1 - Using the experience from the HJ Andrews Forest Research to develop ecological inquiry research models in the high school classroom

Background/Question/Methods

Research at the HJ Andrews Research forest included leaf litter decomposition, plant and invertebrate diversity and included several high school instructors and research scientists. Comparisons were done between a new growth and old growth forest as well as between five other LTR research sites.

Results/Conclusions Methodologies and modeling used in the research were transferred to the high school students to develop inquiry skills.
