Background/Question/Methods

BugGuide.net is a hive of activity for citizens, scientists, and citizen scientists who enjoy learning about and sharing observations of insects and related arthropods. It offers a place where individual contributions add to the value of the whole. Incoming photographic submissions are identified and classified by volunteer editors creating a guide to North American insects that currently comprises nearly 40,000 pages.

Results/Conclusions

The result is a dynamic and growing resource that is valued by anyone interested in the identification and biology of North American insects.
