As a grassroots network, GLEON’s governance and operations services the science, education, and outreach priorities of its members.  As a “learning organization”, GLEON has formed training and education programs in response to needs expressed through workshops, world cafés, and formal survey assessment.  Educational programs featured here  include training for all members through workshops and site exchanges managed by the GLEON Student Association (GSA) and a Fellowship Program designed to train graduate students in the team science necessary to participate in and lead macrosystem-scale science projects. These programs, and the learning organization capacity, are leveraged extensively by collaborators leading science projects.
