The crux of understanding ecological change over time is adequate multi-dimensional information. Information that describes and quantifies ecosystem components, from points on, below and above the ground to processes that function across the continent. NEON hyperspectral data, coupled with lidar, biological, chemical and physical data, collected across the United States, over 30 years will provide a unique opportunity to understand ecological change across scales. From point to pixel to data cube, we will explore how hyperspectral data can support ecological research.
