We want to welcome all students to the 99th annual ESA meeting with this special session offering strategies to make the most of their week in Sacramento. The Student Section, in collaboration with SEEDS, has designed the orientation to cover a wide range of topics, including how to network with colleagues and peers, how to approach professors without feeling intimidated, how to select talks to attend, great talks to attend and how to navigate Sacramento. The session targets first-time meeting attendees but advice and discussion opportunities are relevant to all meeting participants. This session features both presentations and panel discussions with seasoned ESA meeting attendees. We will finish by breaking into smaller groups to develop individual “meeting game plans” to ensure a successful conference experience for everyone.
