Come learn how to effectively engage Elementary and Middle School Students and Teachers in learning about science and nature studies through Project Learning Tree (PLT). This award winning environmental education program has curriculum materials for early childhood through secondary audiences. This day-long workshop will focus on our PreK-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide and providing participants with the knowledge and skills needed to use these curriculum materials in their work with schools. During this hands-on workshop, we will conduct several PLT activities that demonstrate how PLT is an effective EE resource for educators who wish to increase their students’ understanding of science and the natural world around them. We will also discuss and strategize effective ways for ESA members to effectively use these materials as a mechanism for engaging students and teachers in the field of ecology both in formal academic setting as well as in nonformal settings.

Participants will receive a certificate of completion and a copy of the PLT Pre-8 Environmental Education Activity Guide, which contains 96 interdisciplinary environmental education curriculum activities.

Registration Fee: $25
