This is the second year that a panel of business representatives will convene to deepen the conversation between ESA members and business leaders. This session builds on ESA’s Earth Stewardship initiative to explore solutions that will help redefine our relationship with the planet and reduce the risks of degrading Earth’s life-support systems. It is the latest in a series of conversations, workshops, and demonstration projects that include a wide range of interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral communities from universities, agencies, land managers, religious communities and businesses.

In this session, we will explore:

  1. How business and industry view the need for biodiversity;
  2. What kinds of ecological information will enable businesses and industries to achieve sustainability goals that help preserve biodiversity?
  3. What are the avenues for building collaborations between ecologists and businesses to protect biodiversity and the services it provides?

Our presenters include Glen Lubcke, PG&E; Robbert Snep, Alterra – Wageningen UR (NL); Maria Hartley, Chevron; Albert Straus, Straus Family Creamery.
