Who’s park is it anyway? Priority and preference in ecological design
Who’s park is it anyway? Priority and preference in ecological design
Wednesday, August 12, 2015
345, Baltimore Convention Center
Patterson Park is the largest and most actively used public landscape in southeast Baltimore. It serves the city as both a hub for cultural programs and as a purveyor of ecosystem services. Each is essential to the character and functionality of the park. Yet public preference, not ecological science continues to be the primary driver of investment. As such, a pragmatic approach to ecological design and master planning begins with a thorough understanding user preferences and priorities. By sharing results from the Patterson Park stakeholder surveys, this session will ask and explore the question; Who’s Park is it Anyway?
