"Of course I know how to do (XYZ)"--stretching beyond your training at an undergraduate institution

At an undergraduate institution, you are likely to be the only person in your subfield in your department. In fact, you may be the only faculty member from your whole discipline. It's time to overcome all that caution you learned in grad school and say "yes, I can do that!" --  to new collaborations, to interdisciplinary projects, to teaching outside your expertise, to serving on that panel. Time to become a learner again. Time to have fun again!
