316, Ft Lauderdale Convention Center
I had never considered a career in ecological consulting until I was invited to apply for a position at a local firm. I had a tough choice to make: better pay, better hours, and shorter commute vs whiny pre-med majors, pointless committee meetings, and academic politics. I took the plunge, and shortly after receiving tenure, I resigned from academia to accept the position. I now work with a large group of dedicated ecologists on a variety of challenging and interesting projects, have almost no pointless committee meetings or whiny pre-med majors, and have a much more rewarding work-life balance.
