Madhusudan Katti, California State University, Fresno

Your Ph.D. and postdoc have prepared you for a research career, and you are at the top of your research game when you get your faculty position. Chances are, you find yourself at an institution that primarily serves undergraduate students, many from diverse backgrounds that may or may not resemble your own. I will explore the challenges of: developing vital teaching skills while on-the-job; keeping your research program active; building support networks to help you survive the tenure-track; finding ways to engage diverse students without defaulting to your own personal experience; and understanding the evidence and language of education research.
