An interesting and unique program about sea turtles and anthropogenic threats to them beginning at the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center in Boca Raton. Following that everyone will walk over to the beach to watch Gumbo Limbo sea turtle biologists release sea turtle hatchlings into the ocean.
Registration Fee: $33
Equipment and Attire: Comfortable clothing appropriate for a walk on the beach. Cameras without flash are encouraged. Cell phones should not be used on the beach as the light disorients hatchlings. No flashlights, staff will have red flashlights for your safety.
Itinerary: 1.- 7:00 PM Leave Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center for Gumbo Limbo Nature Center (1801 North Ocean Blvd., Boca Raton, FL 33432) to arrive around 8:00 PM.
2.- 9:30 PM Leave Gumbo Limbo Nature Center for the Ft. Lauderdale Convention Center (1950 Eisenhower Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316)to arrive around 10:30 PM.
