Ecological design and art are combined to enrich public space in the work of Linda Wysong. As an interdisciplinary visual artist, she investigates the dynamic relationship between the natural and the built environments. The work is both aesthetic and functional. The presentation includes two art and science collaborations: the historic Vanport MAX station with a storm water swale and water quality pond and the SE Clay Green Street and the Water Education Plaza. Both projects involve interdisciplinary teams of biologists, engineers, landscape architects and artists to restore habitat and raise community awareness.
