Saturday, August 5, 2017: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
A105, Oregon Convention Center
Organizer:
Monica Grandos, University of Guelph
Co-organizer:
Auriel M.V. Fournier, University of Arkansas - Fayetteville
This workshop uses a tabular ecology dataset from the Portal Project Teaching Database and teaches data cleaning, management, analysis and visualization. There are no pre-requisites, and the materials assume no prior knowledge of the tools. All of the software used is free and open source and will not require purchase. We use a single dataset throughout the workshop to model the data management and analysis workflow that a researcher would use. We will cover an introduction to R, basic data analysis, manipulation and visualization, and offer practical advice on best practices for data management.

Registration Fee: $35
