SS 2 - Ecoinformatics: Informing Decisions with Ecological Knowledge

Monday, August 2, 2010: 10:15 AM-11:30 AM
413, David L Lawrence Convention Center
Organizer:
Friedrich Recknagel, University of Adelaide
The session aims to promote the use of advanced computational technology for the elucidation of principles of information processing at and between all levels of complexity of ecosystems - from genes to ecological networks - and aiding trasparent decision making in relation to issues in ecology such as sustainability, biodiversity and global warming. Expected outcomes of the session are to highlight requirements for: data integration and sharing, data synthesis and visualisation, informed decision making about ecological sustainability, education and training.
