Obtaining research funding is challenging for all scientists, but faculty at primarily undergraduate institutions (PUIs) may face additional obstacles because of high teaching demands, lack of grant officers, and other issues. This workshop will explore funding options for PUIs through traditional agencies (such as the NSF), but will also ask PUI scientists to share less well-known funding options and strategies, such as local foundations and corporate partnerships. Participants will also create a list of funding challenges and best practice solutions to be posted on the Researchers at Undergraduate Institutions section web page to serve as a resource for PUI ecologists.
