Our challenge as scientists is to extend the impact of our work beyond our insular  scientific community to everyday people. We must translate our findings into visual communications that are comprehensible and exciting – and we can partner with artists and designers to dream up new ways to accomplish this.  This ignite session will present an ongoing service learning partnership between student designers and climate change scientists. It’s resulting in increased climate change science literacy in the design students. They, in turn, are creating “Wired”-style infographics for their science clients that are technically correct and hip enough to be interesting.
