Climate models tell us that what would be considered an extreme heat wave today in California, will be commonplace summer weather by the end of the century. The state of California leads the nation in agricultural production. California is the number 1 producer of many crops from major commodities (like Dairy) to minor commodities (like many specialty fruits). What will happen when California’s agricultural cornucopia collides with climate change extremes?
