Teaching undergraduates who are non-science majors is an important form of science communication and outreach within an academic setting.  However, teaching these students has its own set of challenges. How an instructor approaches teaching these students can have a large impact on how these students will perceive science in the future. I will address why we need to be engaging uninterested students and ways to help these students “get” the importance of scientific research.
