Exposure to a variety of ecological careers is a method used by SEEDS to cultivate undergraduate interest of the field of ecology.  While “diversifying” the field has often been seen as a mechanism for ethnic diversity, SEEDS also is extremely academically inclusive leading to a broader interpretation of ecology careers. The diversity SEEDS accomplishes will be presented in a new light so that academic advisors and graduate departments can recognize the benefits of reconsidering scholarly training experiences for preparing the next generation of ecological professionals.
