Experiential learning that connects science, place, and culture to citizen action fosters public response to climate change.  In partnership with UD's Hanley Sustainability Institute, the Marianist Environmental Education Center restores communities of land and people through hands-on learning and educational programs on climate change that illustrate relationships between local justice issues to regional and global impacts.  Pope Francis’ Laudato si' calls for inter- and trans-disciplinary dialogue with ecology, suggesting the benefit of ‘specialized generalists’ who, with dual-degrees in ecology and another field, would possess credibility and skills to empower ecological science in the service of urban development and global justice.
